Abstrak

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to describe the increase in students' reading skills in learning to read through the model of problem based learning in class IV SDN 10 Lubuk Buaya south of Pesisir. This type of this research is classroom action research (PTK). The subjects were fourth grade students of SDN 10 Lubuk Buaya, the amount of students 36. The instrument of this research used the observation sheet reading skills of students, teacher observation sheet and final tests of learning. Based on the results of this research is the percentage of students reading learning activity is 43.05% in the first cycle increased to 80.55% in the second cycle. The percentage of the implementation process of learning to read which is 55.55% of students in the first cycle increased to 83.33% in the second cycle. Percentage discussion groups of students in answering the question is 61.11% in the first cycle increased to 86.11% in the second cycle. And the average mastery learning students in the first cycle 72.22 with the percentage 66.67% and 82.50 with the percentage increasing to 86.11% in the second cycle. From the results of this study can concluded that the Indonesian learning through problem-based learning models can improve the reading skills of students in grade IV SDN 10 Lubuk Buaya South of Pesisir District. Based on the results of this research, it is suggested that teachers can apply the model of problem based learning well in learning Indonesian in accordance with the material being taught.
