Abstract

This studyaims to determinethe use ofeachteacher's teachingmethodsof biologyandits relationshipwith thelearning outcomesof high school studentsin the district ofPadangPariaman. One of the factorsthat influencestudent learning outcomesarepoormethods ofteachingthebiologyteacher.This is a descriptivestudywiththe entirepopulationbiology teacherin the district ofPadangPariaman.Samplestakenproposifsampling.The variablesof this studyis theteacher's teachingmethodsbiologisebagaivariablesXandlearning outcomesas a variableY. type of data collected in this study, primary data and secondary data. Primary data is data obtained directly from the filling questionnaires by teachers and secondary data obtained in a form that is so, the number of high school biology teacher in the district of Padang Pariaman. Data were analyzed usingproduct momentcorrelation formula. From thecalculation ofthe priceobtainedcorrelationr=0.373witha strongcorrelationcoefficientcategory. Furthermore, thecalculation of thedeterminant coefficientwhichshowsthat there is ameaningfulmethod ofteachingbiologyteacherwithstudent learning outcomesin the amount of13.91%.Means moreteachersteachingmethodsused, thehigher thestudents' learningoutcomes. Vice versa, the less thebiologyteacherteaching methodsused, the lower thestudent learning outcomes. Based onthe hypothesis test, the obtained value oft=2.127withttable=2.048then thepricet count>ttable, anddf=n-2 on thereal level ofα=0.05andH1diterimahypothesisH0 is rejected.
