Abstract

This study aims to examine the correlation between smoking habits of perception by students with learning outcomes biology at SMAN 1 Sungai Beremas and MAN Air Bangis Kecamatan Sungai Beremas. This is a descriptive study with a population of 83 students at SMAN 1 Sungai Beremas and MAN Air Bangis, with a sample of 69 students. The variables of this study is the perception of smoking as a variable X and the students' learning outcomes as a variable Y. The type of data that is primary data obtained using a questionnaire and secondary data from biology student learning outcomes that the research samples obtained from the Biology teacher. The data is processed by using SPSS 16.0 and analyzed using product moment correlation formula. Furthermore, the correlation of the coefficient of determination shows that the perception of the relationship of smoking habits by students at SMAN 1 River Beremas by 55.8% and MAN Air Bangis of 60.2%. It can be concluded that there is a significant correlation between the perception of smoking by students with learning outcomes biology at SMAN 1 Beremas River and MAN Air Bangis Kecematan Sungai Beremas.
