Abstrak

This research is motivated by the lack of critical thinking skills of students in mathematics in the fourth grade at SDN 22 Ulak Karang Utara. The purpose of this study was to describe the increase in critical thinking skills Mathematics Elementary School fourth grade students Ulak Karang 22 North through the Problem Based Learning Model. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles. The subjects were all students of class IV Elementary School 22 North Ulak Karang enrolled in the second semester 2014/2015 teachings. The research instrument used is the observation sheet activities and teacher assessment rubric students' critical thinking skills. Based on teacher activity sheet obtained that the average scores of teachers in managing learning in the first cycle ie 69.44% increase in cycle II became 74.99%. Based on the assessment rubric critical thinking skills of students obtained an average value of the percentage of students' critical thinking skills in the first cycle of 66.99% and 79.22% in the second cycle. Through learning model Problem Based Learning can be improved critical thinking skills of fourth grade students in mathematics at SDN 22 Ulak Karang Utara. Based on this study suggested to the teachers to be able to use the Model Problem Based Learning in improving students' critical thinking skills in learning Mathematics.
