Abstrak

This study dilatarbelakang low activity of social studies grade IV first semester of the school year 2013/2014. This is due to the dominant researchers use methods of lecture and question and answer. The purpose of this study is to describe how an increase in the activity of social studies grade IV through methods Problem Solving in Elementary School 15 Kampung Baru South Solok. This type of research is the Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subjects were students of class IV, amounting to 16 people. The research data was obtained through the activity of the observer, the researchers did of any corrective action taken through the method of Problem Solving. The results of the study of each cycle shown no increase student learning activities. In the first cycle measures the percentage of completeness of student learning activities 50%. Furthermore, in the second cycle the percentage of students achieving mastery learning activities 84%. Researchers infer an increase in social studies activities through methods Problem Solving in Elementary School fourth grade 15 Kampung Baru South Solok has successfully conducted research.
