KATEGORI DAN FUNGSI PANTUN DALAM ACARA GEMPAR (GEMBIRA JO PARAMEX) DI RADIO ARBES FM PADANG

Abstrak

The purpose of this research was to describe the categories and function of traditional poetry that is broadcast  in the Gempar (gembira jo paramex) show on radio ARBES FM Padang. This show unrequited traditional poetry that is broadcast daily from 17:00 to 17:45 pm. Theory is used to analyze the categories and functions of traditional poetry is the theory proposed by Erizal Gani (2010) and A.A Navis (1986). This type of research is qualitative and descriptive method. Data collection is done by taking a recording broadcast. Based the results of 3 times the recording found 93 data, consisting of 6 categories and 7 function traditional poetry. Categories traditional poetry consisting of (1) Custom Traditional poetry, (2) old traditional poetry, (3) young traditional poetry, (4) childhood traditional poetry, (5) happy traditional poetry, and (6) grief traditional poetry. while the function of traditional poetry is as (1) medium of communication, (2) an ornamental flower, (3) a medium of educating, (4) custom embodiment, (5) entertainment, (6) cultural symbols, and (7) heroic values. Meanwhile, based on the analysis found no traditional functions such as identity, means of preaching, and humanizing. From the analysis, category and function traditional poetry in the  Gempar (gembira jo paramex) show on ARBES FM radio can be concluded that the category is dominated by young traditional poetry, while the function of traditional poetry is more dominant as medium of communication function.
