PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA NYARING SISWA KELAS II DALAM PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INDONESIA MELALUI MODEL PEMBELAJARAN LEARNING STARTS WITH A QUESTION DI SD NEGERI 07 PASAR SALIDO KABUPATEN PESISIR SELATAN

Abstrak

The background of this research is the fact of the lacking of the students’ reading skill in second grade students SDN 07 Pasar Salido as seen in the learning process. The purpose of this research is to describe the increase of reading aloud ability of the second grade students on the study of Bahasa Indonesia through Learning Starts With A Question learning model. The Learning Starts With a Question is first introduced by Istarani (2012), while the theory of reading is used from the theory which is coined by Farida Rahim (2011). Method of the research which is being used is the observation method on class’s behavior which is formulated by Arikunto (2010). This research is implemented in two cycles, each of the cycle consist of 2 meetings. The subject of this research are students from second grade class in SDN 07 Pasar Salido with consisting 17 people in total. The Instruments of the research used in this study are teacher’s observation sheet, studying result test and reading result test. Based on the research result which is conducted on the second grade class in SDN 07 Pasar Salido, the use of Learning Starts With A Question model is proven to be able to increase students’ reading aloud ability. It can be seen from the increase of the students’ reading ability from cycle I with the average of 55,00 to 73,33 on cycle II. Research’s result, with the average percentage of teachers from 76% on cycle I to 83,00% on cycle II. Finally, the students’ learning result from cycle I with the average of 79,33% increased to the average of 92,53% on cycle 2. From those results it can be concluded that there is an increase of the students’ reading aloud ability on second grade students in SDN 07 Pasar Salindo after using the model of Learning Starts With a Question.
