Abstrak

This research is motivated by the lack of ability to ask, expression and learning outcomes of fourth grade students in social studies learning. In the learning process the teachers tend to use the lecture method. Resulting in the ability to ask, expression and low student learning outcomes, to the researchers propose a solution to implement a model of inquiry in learning IPS. The purpose of this study was to describe the increase in activity and learning outcomes of fourth grade students in social studies learning through inquiry at SDN 06 models Backs Lading. Subjects in this study were fourth grade students of SDN 06 Backs Lading, which has 21 students. The research instrument used in this study is the ability to use sheet activity, aspects of teacher observation sheets and sheets test or question. Based on the results of this research is the ability of the activity asks students 69.05 first cycle increased to 78.57 in the second cycle, students' ability to express opinions activity 66.67 first cycle increased to 83.34 in the second cycle of student learning outcomes first cycle increased 68.57 became 88.09 in the second cycle. It can be concluded that the IPS learning through inquiry can level models in class IV SDN 06 Squad Lading. Based on these results the researchers recommend that teachers can apply the model of inquiry well in learning social studies in accordance with the material being taught.
