Abstract

Mathematics learningprocessthattakes placein the SMPN1 Mapat Tunggulstill dominatedbythe teacher. This is evident from the lack of students involvement in learning. In addition, at the time working on exercises students have difficulty understanding what the purpose of the question so difficult to find a solution. Students also do not understand the concepts being taught teachers to solve problems so that when they do not know which formula to use. That situation made students learning mathematics becomes not optimal. One of the eforts to superintend that problem is by using the model inovatif learning type problem centered learning by using LKS in the learning process. The purpose of this research was to determine whether students mathematics learning outcomes using model problem centered learning by using LKS is better than the outcomes of students mathematics learning using conventional learning in class VIII SMPN 1 Mapat Tunggul. The data analyzed by the hypothesis y-test, based on the results of data anlysis be found tcompute = 1,917 and ttable = 1,669 at 95% confidence level, because tcompute > ttable. Then, the hypothesis in accepted that students mathematics learning outcomes using model problem centered learning by using LKS is better than the outcomes of students mathematics learning using conventional learning in class VIII SMPN 1 Mapat Tunggul.
