Abstrak

The purpose of this research is to improve reading comprehension skills students fifth grade in Indonesian language learning with Learning Starts With a Question model at SDN 43 Rawang Timur Padang. The theory was using are Learning Starts With A Question model by Istarani (2011), while reading used the theory stated by Dalman (2013). The type of this research was classroom action research. Subjects of this research was students grade fifth as much as 30 people. The instrument was using in this research is the observation sheet teacher activity, student activity sheets, and student worksheet. The results of research were students' reading comprehension skill that using Learning Starts With A Question model on the first cycle of the first meeting and the second meeting of 71.33 increased in the second cycle the first meeting and the second meeting increased to 81.5 and 11.67, while the results learning students has increased in the first cycle and first meeting and the second meeting with an average of 53.33 has increased in the second cycle and the first meeting and the second meeting with an average of 76.67. So, Indonesia language learning by using Learning Starts With A Question model can improve students' reading comprehension skill. From the results of this research can be concluded that Learning Starts With a Question model to improve students' reading comprehension skill in Indonesian language learning in accordance with KKM.
