Abstrak

This research is motivated by the lack of reading comprehension class V students learning Indonesian. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the use of Talking Stick method can improve students' reading comprehension in answering questions, and issue an opinion on learning Indonesian. This research is a classroom action research with the research subjects are students of class V SDN 09 Surau Tower Padang, amounting to 21 people. This is a research instrument teacher observation sheet activities, observation sheet reading skills and test students' understanding of student learning outcomes. Based on the observation sheet reading comprehension of students found that the average percentage of students answering reading comprehension questions on the first cycle of 50% whereas 73.05% in the second cycle, and issue an opinion on the first cycle of 47.05%, while in the second cycle 73.05 %. Based on students' test results showed that the average reading comprehension of students in the first cycle an average of 72.85 and 79.05 second cycle. From increased research in the first cycle and second cycle means a target of achieving successful learning in this study and implementation of learning Indonesian with Talking Stick method is progressing well. Based on these results, it is suggested that teachers can use the Talking Stick methods to improve reading comprehension of students in learning Indonesian.
