Abstract

 

One of factor that led many students of class VII in SMP N 2 Junjung Sirih Kabupaten Solok under the Completeness Minimum Criteria (KKM) is the lack of understanding of mathematical concepts. To solve this problem, an effort that can be done is to apply the learning model inquiry with approach of realistic mathematic education. The purpose of this study was to determine the development of student mathematical concepts by applying mathematical model inquiry with approach of realistic mathematic education learning is better than learning outcomes of students who apply mathematics learning in mathematics learning usual class VII in SMP N 2 Junjung Sirih Kabupaten Solok. This study is experimental. The population is a class SMP N 2 Junjung Sirih Kabupaten Solok in the academic year 2014/2015 which consists of two classes. The sample was drawn using random sampling techniques, class VII1 was selected as the control class and the class VII4 as the experimental class. Formula used to determine the hypothesis t . After data processing, the data obtained is  and ttable = 1.684 at the 95% level confidence, so that thitung > ttable. This the hypothesis is accepted, so it can be concluded that the mathematical concepts of students who apply mathematical models inquiry with approach of realistic mathematic education learning is better than learning outcomes of students who apply mathematics learning in mathematics learning usual class VII in SMP N 2 Junjung Sirih Kabupaten Solok.
