Abstract

Mathematics learning process that takes place during the time in the class at VII SMPN 29 Padang generally still centered on the teacher and students were less active in giving feedback or questions. In addition, students seem less focus and concentration when the teacher explains the material, most of them are busy with their own activities. Such conditions cause other students to lose concentration. As a result, students are lazy to record material that has been described as the teachers do not understand what is recorded, so most of the records that the students are not well organized. If the learning process is done with a good strategy and the right and gets the supervision of the teacher it can improve student learning outcomes. Therefore made the application of active learning strategies Guided Note Taking type accompanied quizzes to improve result of study and student activity. Then the result of study data on samples obtained from the value of the final test given to two classes of samples. Thus, it can be concluded that students' learning activity tends to increase with active learning strategies Guided Note Taking type accompanied by quizzes and mathematics student result of study by implementing active learning strategies Guided Note Taking type quizzes with better math student result of study using the normal learning seventh grade students of SMPN 29 Padang.
