Abstrak

Abstract

The low score of student in learning mathematics of grade VIII MTsN Balai Selasa is caused by several factors, they are: first, learning process was centered by the teacher, second conviction of student to be a participant in learning process is decreased and student who was attention about process to answered the question or problem solved. One of the strategies that can improve activity and learning outcome is a kind of problem solving Wankat and Oreovocz. Problem solving Wankat and Oreovocz strategy is a kind of problem solving beginning with conviction of student to got answered the question accordance with this stage. This research was to describe activity and result of student mathematics by using problem solving Wankat and Oreovocz strategy was better than the result of student mathematics by using conventional learning. The instrument in this research was observation sheet and result achievement test. Based on analysis of data, analysis can be concluded students mathematics learning result by using problem solving Wankat and Oreovocz strategy was better than the result of student mathematics learning using conventional learning in class VIII MTsN Balai selasa.
