STRUKTUR DAN NILAI-NILAI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DALAM CERITA RAKYAT BUJANG SAMBILAN

Abstrak

This research was to describe structure and values of character education in Bujang Sambilan folktale. The theory that used in this research are  Danandjaya (1991) about the folktale, Rokhmansyah (2014) about the structure of drama, and Mustari (2014) about the values of character education. The type of this research was  qualitative by using descriptive methods. The object of this research was Bujang Sambilan folktale with the arrange of Yus Dt. Parpatiah script. Instrument of this research was researcher themselves by using computer to download the folktale and observation sheet to write the folktale. The technique of collecting the data has been used listening and writing technique. Based on analysis of data proposed as follow. (1) First, the theme in the folktale was “kasih tak sampai akibat dendam yang tak sudah”. Second, the plot in the folktale was chronological plot because telling the event star from pratagonis figure :Sani and Giran, antagonis figure: Malintang, and tritagonis figure: Palimo Bayua, Rambun Bamaniak, Dt. Limbatang, Pandeka Rayo, Kurambi, Galapuang, Balok, Barasok, Pandan and Gasan. Fourth, the background in the folktale consist of: background of the scene, time, and social. Fifth, the message in the folktale had eleven message that can be guide in a life. (2) The values of character education in Bujang Sambilan were responsible of value, self-conscious, honest, democratic, religious, disciplined, curious, polite, helpful, logical thinking, critical, creative, and innovative, and resilient. Therefore, it can be concluded that Bujang Sambilan folktale contain with the structure and requirement of values character education.
