Abstract

There are several issues that cause a lack of effectiveness on discussion activities in mathematics learning, including teachers do not give enough time to the students for thinking before discussion activities and the student are difficult to link the issues that will be discussed with the knowledge they learned before. The effort that is done to solve these problems is by implementiny coorperative learning model Think Pair Share and techniques Know Want Learned How (KWLH). The purpose of this research is compare the student achievement on mathematics that use cooperative learning model Think Pair Share and technique KWLH with the student is achievement on mathematics that use common learning in the eight class of SMPN 2 Padang. Based on the data analysis we found that the student achievement on mathematics that use cooperative learning Think Pair Share and technique KWLH is better that the students achievement on mathematics that use common learning in the eight class of SMPN 2 Padang.
