Abstrak

This research is motivated by the lack of communication skills and student learning outcomes, this is caused by the conventional method still. This study aimed to describe the improvement of communication skills and student learning outcomes class II on the theme of indulgence by using the talking stick models in SDN No. 24 Barung-Barung Belantai. This research is a classroom action research using a model of the talking stick. Subject researchers are grade II totaling 30 people. This study was conducted in several cycles, the first cycle consists of two meetings and the second cycle consists of two meetings. From the research that has been done, it appears that the results of the implementation of the assessment of learning communication skills, and student learning outcomes increased from cycle I to cycle II. Results showed increased communication abilities of students in the first cycle the first meeting of 56.66% and at a meeting II has risen 66.66%. Cycle II 71.66% the first meeting and at the meeting II has risen 81.66%. The thoroughness of the implementation of learning outcomes theme craze in the first cycle is 69.6 and the second cycle increased to 77. So learning craze theme using the talking stick models goes well. Based on the results of this study concluded that the use of models talking stick can improve communication skills and learning outcomes in learning craze theme class II SDN 24 Barung-Barung Belantai.
