Abstrak

This research aims to overcome the saturation of students in social studies using strategies humor in SDN 23 Sawah Liat Tarusan. Type of research is classroom action research. The subjects were students of class V SDN 23 Sawah Liat Tarusan of 20 people. This study consisted of two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings and one final test cycle. At a meeting of the first cycle of activities of students in asking questions 45%.While the second meeting increased to 65%. At the first meeting of the second cycle students who ask 60%, the second meeting increased to 70%. From the comparison of the two cycles is already visible saturation level students are not visible anymore. IPS learning outcomes fifth grade students of SDN 23 Sawah Liat Tarusan increased through a strategy of humor. This can be seen in the first cycle of learning outcomes on average 75.5 with completeness 65% and cycle II increased an average of learning outcomes to 70.1 with 75% mastery. Based on these results we can conclude the activity and increased student learning outcomes by using strategies Humor. Therefore, it is advisable for teachers to use humor in teaching strategies in elementary social studies.
