PENERAPAN STRATEGI PEMBELAJARAN AKTIF TIPE PRACTICE REHEARSAL PAIRS DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA SISWA KELAS VIII MTsN BALAI SELASA

Abstract
The process of teaching and learning mathematics in MTsN Balai Selasa showed the lack variety of teaching style and some of the student who did not actively involve in such learing process. It was begin by the teachers firstly by giving the explanation about materials, giving the questions, and lastly showing the answer. After that, the student were asked to take a note about the materials given and do some other exercises. While only a few od then did the exercise seriously some others did not. They just talked, cheated, mde a trouble, offended their friends, and did other things. TO solve these problems, it is suggested that teachers should use a technique which enable the students become active. As a result, it is expected that their grade as well as their motivation in learing mathematic will be better. One possible solution proposed in this research is by implementing active learning strategy type practice rehearsal pairs. This research is the experimental research. The instrument used in order to determine the students competency level was in the form of essay test. The result of this researh show that the result of the student learning outcomes using active learning strategy type practice rehearsal pairs is better than using the conventional method.
