PENINGKATAN AKTIVITAS DAN HASIL BELAJAR MEMBACA INTENSIF SISWA KELAS V MELALUI MODEL WORD SQUARE DI SD NEGERI 16 AIR TAWAR TIMUR KOTA PADANG
Abstrak
The purpose of this research was to describe the activities and results of intensive reading by using word squaremodels. The theory that made reference to the activity are Hamalik theory (2007), the square word model usedIstarani theory (2012), and learning outcomesused Sudjana theory (2011). The type of this research is  classroom action research conducted collaborative. This research was conducted in two cycles. Subjects of this research were students of grade fifth SDN 16 Air Tawar Padang thattotaling 28 students. Instrument in this researchwas the observation sheet teacher, student observation sheet, and achievement test. The results showed that used of the word square models can increase the activity and intensive reading students' learning outcomes. Based on the results of the research, the average percentage of the activity of students in the first cycle increased 69.74% in the second cycle into 93.65%. Improved student learning outcomes cognitive test scores at the end of the first cycle an average of 78.92 has increased in the second cycle at the end of the test score average of 86.25. Based on the results of this study concluded that the activity of learning and student learning outcomes in intensive reading by using word models square increases.
