This research has the background of the fact that learning takes place is still centered on the teacher, the lack of interaction between teachers and students in completing the study. Students tend to shy to ask but would rather ask its own theme from the teacher asked. To overcome this problem, an effort that can be done is to implement learning strategies Mastery Learning with Peer Tutor. The aim of this study was to see if the results of students who apply to study mathematics learning strategies Peer Tutor Mastery Learning with better learning outcomes by applying conventional teaching mathematics class VII SMP Negeri 1 Lengayang Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. This was an experimental study. Instruments were achievement test. Based on analysis of data obtained by t = 3.35,  Then the hypothesis is accepted that the learning outcomes of students learning mathematics learning strategies Mastery Learning with Peer Tutor better than learning outcomes of students learning mathematics using conventional learning in class VII SMP Negeri 1 Lengayang Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan.
