Abstrak

The research objective was to describe the increase in the ability of students to explain the content and learning outcomes of learning social studies approach the concept map in SDN 07 GurunLawehNanggalo Padang. Strategy Map concept is to build students' knowledge in learning systematically. This type of research is classroom action research conducted by the participants. The research instrument used sheet activities of students and teachers as well as the achievement test sheet. The study was conducted in two cycles. The subjects were students of class V SDN 07 Gurun LawehNanggalo Padang totaling 31 people The results, obtained by the observation of student activity and the average percentage in the first cycle was 48.1%, and the second cycle increased by an average percentage of 70 , 7%. Percentage mastery learning outcomes in the first cycle was 67.74% with an average value of 7.7, while the percentage of mastery learning on the second cycle increased to 87% with an average value of 9.1. It can be concluded that the approach to science learning through Concept Maps can improve learning outcomes fifth grade students of SDN 07 GurunLaweh Padang.
