Abstrak

This research is motivated by the low of collaboration among students and learning outcomes VII.5 grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Palembayan in learning writing skills. The purpose of this research was to describe the increased cooperation among students and writing skills of seventh grade students through cooperative learning model Round Table in SMP Negeri 3 Palembayan Agam. The theory used in this research that is the theory proposed by: (1) Isjoni about cooperation, (2) Semi and Tarin on writing skills, (3) Barkley, et al on cooperative learning model Round Table, (4) Arikunto on research class action. The type of this research is classroom action research that conducted in two cycles. The researcher took 23 students from VII.5 grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Palembayan academic year 2014/2015 as sample. In collecting the data, the researcher used observation sheets, written tests, and field recording. Based on the research results, it can be seen: (1) an average of the results of cooperation among students the first cycle of 78.8% increased to 89.1% in the second cycle. (2) The average results of students' writing skills learned in the first cycle of 70.2 and increased to 85.86 in the second cycle. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of cooperative learning model type Round Table could improve the cooperation and student learning outcomes in teaching writing skills in the classroom VII.5 SMP Negeri 3 Palembayan Agam.
