Abstrak

This research is motivated to learn to read the lack of results in the learning process. This study aimed to describe the learning outcome of students' reading. This type of research is a classroom action research (PTK). The subjects were students of class V SDN 52 Kuranji. Assessment instruments used were observation sheet activities of teacher, student activity observation sheet. The results showed a yield increase of students learning to read in the first cycle number 335 with an overall score of 62.03 increased in the second cycle with a total score of 392 with a value of 72.59. Final test results of students in the first cycle gained an average of 68.50 with the percentage of test scores mastery test 35%. Increased in the second cycle with an average of 86.59 with the percentage of test scores mastery test 90%. Results of this study concluded that the model of inquiry can improve learning outcomes reading the fifth grade students of SD Negeri 52 Kuranji Padang.
