PENINGKATAN AKTIVITAS DAN KEMAMPUAN BERBICARA SISWA KELAS VIII.7 SMP NEGERI 25 PADANG MELALUI METODE BERMAIN PERAN

Abstrak

This research is motivated by the low of motivation and learning score of student’s VIII.7 SMP Negeri 25 Padang on Bahasa Indonesia lesson especially speaking skill. The purpose of this research was describing the increased activity and speaking skill of student’s VIII.7 SMP Negeri 25 Padang by using role playing method. The theory that was used in thin research is about activities by Sardiman (2014), speaking skill by Tarigan (2008) and Arief and Munaf (2003), and about role playing method by Djamarah (2006) and Uno (2007). Next, the type of this research is classroom action research by Arikunto (2012) that have two cycles. Subject of research were the student of class VIII.7 SMP Negeri 25 Padang Academic Period 2015/2016 who consist of 34 students. The collecting data was using observation sheets, writing test, field note. Based on the result of research, it can be seen: (1) the average of persentage student activity on first cycles 68% and increased to 89% on second cycles, (2) the average speaking skill of students on first cycles are 57 and increased on second cycles to be 84. Inconclusion, that the implementation of role playing method could raise up activity and learning student score on speaking lesson at class VIII.7 SMP Negeri 25 Padang.
