Abstrak

ABSTRACT

 

The purpose of this study was to describe the learning outcome natural science through a contextual approach to the fifth grade students of SDN 29 VII Koto Sungai Sarik Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. This research is a classroom action research. This research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of four meetings. The subject of this study is the fifth grade students of SDN 29 VII Koto Sungai Sarik Kabupaten Padang Pariaman totaling 15 people. The research instrument used in this study is the observation sheet activities of teacher, student activity observation sheet and test results of students learn science. The results showed that an increase in student learning outcomes. The average value of student learning outcomes in the first cycle is 72.33 with 73.33% completeness increased in the second cycle into 82.83 by 86.66% completeness. Learning implementation of aspects of the teachers in the first cycle increased 74.91% in the second cycle into 91.96%, while the students in the first cycle aspects of 71.43% increased in the second cycle into 83.93%. It was concluded that the results of fifth grade science students learning can be enhanced through a contextual approach in SDN 29 VII Koto Sungai Sarik Padang Pariaman. Difficulties were found during the study that is the formation of a heterogeneous group of students who are smart and active expression. Implementation of contextual approach should be done by giving reword (motivation) in the process and students are trained to be able to work with the group.
