PERBANDINGAN KARAKTER GURU DENGAN KARAKTER GURU ISADALAM NOVEL DJALAN TAK ADA UDJUNG KARYA MOCHTAR LUBIS
Abstrak
This study aimed to describe the comparison of the teacher character with Guru Isa’s character in the novel Djalan Tak Ada Udjung written by Mochtar Lubis. Meanwhile, the theory used in this study was theory proposed by Aris Soimin (2014) about teacher character. This study was a qualitatif study that generated data in form of written text from the dialogues and attitude that can be observe in the novel Djalan Tak Ada Udjung written by Mochtar Lubis.The method used was descriptive method that was by describe the problems of Guru Isa, categorized the attitude of Guru Isa and by comparing the character of Guru Isa with teacher character. From the study, researcher found the result that shown the character of Guru Isa in the novel Djalan Tak Ada Udjung written by Mochtar Lubis namely: (1) emotions awareness, (2) humble, (3) communication, (4) motivation, (5) discipline, (6) self-reflection, (7) loving, and (8) patient.From the data analysis result, it can be concluded that the dominant character appeared was emotions awareness because Guru Isa as a teacher figure who be able to control the emotions in inconvenience condition or personal problems. Guru Isa was humble, communicative in sosializing, peace loving, and hate the violent. Besides, Guru Isa also a good adviser and very affectionate towards his students, family, and people around him. Guru Isa has the patience and strong self-control in dealing with various problems in his life. If seen by the teacher character today, that character was found but not the same as the character of Guru Isa.
