TEACHING PRONUNCIATION THROUGH ENGLISH SONG
Abstrak
The purposes of this paper are to discuss the teaching pronunciation through English Song, as an alternative teaching method in senior high school. Moreover, this paper is also aimed to be a guideline for English teacher to teach pronunciation more interestingly. The writer hopes this method can improve students’ ability in pronunciation. English Song method helps learners improve their understanding and production of important pronunciation features. Songs can help young learners improve their listening skills and pronunciation, consequently it potentially help them improve their speaking skills. Then, the teacher may ask the students what English Song is the responds the answer about the English Song. It is expected that the students will be able to follow the guidance of their teacher so that they can find out the material that will be learned in that day. There are some problems that teacher has in pronunciation class like lack of motivation and feel bored with the old technique. Because of those problems the writer has been motivated to write and develop the use of English song in teaching pronunciation. The use of English song in teaching pronunciation can motivate the students to learn pronunciation. They will not feel bored anymore with pronunciation class. This method is very useful for students, especially for students of senior high school.
