This study aimed to describe the increased activity and student learning outcomes in learning science by using model-type Group Investigation in class IV SDN 27 Sago South Pesisir District. This research is a classroom action research conducted at the first semester  2015/2016 academic year of SDN 27 Sago South Pesisir District. Subjects were fourth grade students of SDN 27 Sago South Pesisir District which consist of 20 students. The study was conducted in two cycles and each cycle consisted of three meetings. The instrument of this research was form of students’ activity such as observation sheet, aspects of teacher and achievement test. The results showed an increase in activity of student expression in the first cycle is 58% increased in the second cycle to 72%, while the activity of the students asked in the first cycle of 60% increased to 80% in the second cycle, and the activity of the students answered questions on the first cycle is 58 % increasing to 78% in the second cycle. Completeness of student learning outcomes of each cycle of the first 68.4 and the second cycle is 76. It means that the implementation of science learning use model-type of Group Investigation learning is going well. Based on the results of this study, it can conclude that  using model-type of Group Investigation learning can improve the activity and learning outcomes in learning science in Class IV SDN 27 Sago South Pesisir District. Therefore, it can recommend to the teacher be able to use model-type of Group Investigation learning in science teaching in elementary school.
