Abstrak

The purpose of this study was to describe the process of learning to write a narrative essay graders VII1 SMP Pertiwi 2 Padang using the technique of direct object. As seen from the four aspects of the narrative essay writing assessment, namely conformity title, diction (word choice), EYD and shows objects that are written, focusing on a description of the object that has been determined. The theory used Atmazaki (2007: 90) The narrative is a story based on the sequence of events or series of events. The research is a qualitative study using descriptive methods. From the analysis of data obtained 32, the ability of grade students VII1SMP Pertiwi 2 Padang in writing a narrative essay using tekni direct object. From these data 32 students who received grades 73-83 totaled 24 students were classified as good, while those which scored 62-72 amounted to 6 students is quite and students who received grades 51-61 totaled 2 students are classified as less. It can be seen from the four aspects judged on the good aspects, namely the suitability of the title, diction (word choice), shows objects that are written and unfavorable aspects that EYD. In general ability VII1 class students Pertiwi 2 Padang in writing a narrative essay using direct object with both categories good.Keywords: narrative essay and techniques direct object
