KEEFEKTIFAN PENULISAN SURAT RESMI DI UNIT KEGIATAN MAHASISWA KSR PMI PROKLAMATOR UNIVERSITAS BUNG HATTA

Abstrak

This research is motivated.There are still many mistakes in writing an official letter like writing sentence structure, use ofEYD, and choice of words. The purpose of this study to describe the effectiveness of writing a formal letter in the Student Activity Unit KSR PMI Proklamator Bung Hatta University which includes the choice of words and sentence structure. The theory wasdescribed by Semi Atar M. (2009). This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive method. Data was collected by collecting sheet official letter about national activities made by KSR PMI Proclaimers are ready to be analyzed: (1) marks the errors associated with the official letter written by members of KSR PMI Proclaimers, (2) record and classify types of errors related with: part of letters and language of the letter, (3) analyze the content based on the theory describing the official letter or letter format. Based on data analysis, it is concluded that some mistakes in the choice of words and sentence structure.Sentence structure are: (1) The presence of the writing of the date of the letter, (2) writing the address, (3) The core paragraph in an official letter, (4) In the closing paragraph structure is incomplete. While the choice of words are: (1) Waste words on writing ladder letters, (2) must be considered in usingpunctuation for abbreviation mail address, (3)Paragraphcore effectiveness of sentences have errors in the choice of words because the words are not right (4) The choice of words in the closing paragraph, it still less precise and complete. The writer shouldpay attention the completeness and the choice of words for  the meaning in the cover letter, the analysis of the data that has been said above.In conclusion,writing in a formal letter is a letter out on KSR PMI Proclaimers Bung Hatta University has not been effective, both at The core and The cover of opening paragraph.
