AN ANALYSIS OF THE SECOND YEAR STUDENTS’ DIFFICULTIES IN WRITING PRESENT PERFECT in SIMPLE SENTENCE

Abstract
The objective of this research was to describe the difficulties faced by the students in writing present perfect tense. The design of this research was descriptive research. The total population was 49 students. The researcher used cluster random sampling technique and class B had been chosen to be the sample of this research.The data of this research was gathered by using writing sentence test. To know the reliability of the test, the researcher used inter-rater technique. The test was reliable because the value of r-calculated was 0.99. It could be categorized into very high correlation. After analyzing the data, the researcher found that the students had difficulties in writing present perfect. Based on the result, the researcher suggests that the teacher gives more explanation and exercise in writing present perfect in simple sentence. The researcher also suggests to the students that they need to practice more writing present perfect in simple sentence.
