TEACHING SPEAKING BY USING TELEPHONE CONVERSATION IN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL

ABSTRACT

The goal of this paper is to discuss the teaching of speaking by using telephone conversation, as an alternative teaching technique in junior high schools.  Moreover, this paper also aims to be a guideline for English teachers to teach speaking more interestingly. The writer hopes this technique could improve students’ ability in speaking skill. Telephone conversation is a conversation over the telephone that usually happens between two persons in a long distance. In this relation, the teachers may use telephone conversation to improve students’ speaking ability in classrooms. Using telephone conversation, the students can exchange their ideas freely with their own words.
