An Analysis on The Ability of Third Year Students to Scan Advertisement at English Department of Bung Hatta University
Abstrak
ABSTRACT
The purpose of writing this paper is to discuss an analysis on the ability of third year students to scan advertisement at English Department of Bung Hatta University. As we know, reading advertisement is not an easy skil while we need such skill in order to be able to understand the context of a text. They can not focus on reading text, and their rading ability to understand about the purpose and the content are not too good so that they are not able to connect all the ideas. So, the result of third year students’ ability on scanning advertisement text was moderate. First, the third year students’ ability on scanning advetisement of product was moderate as their weaknesses on understanding the purpose of the advertisement of product itself. Second, the third year students’ ability on scanning advetisement of job was moderate as their weaknesses on reading the exactly purpose of why the advertisement of job advertsing is. And Finally, the third year students’ ability on scanning advetisement of education was moderate because they still are confused about schools’ advertisement.
