Abstrak

Formulation of the problem in this research is how the percentage of errors using the concepts, The error in question in this research is untruth students in working on the problems and the types of principles, numerical and verbal committed students of SMPN 3 X Koto Singkarak on the material relations and functions and what are the causes of class VIII SMPN 3 X Koto Singkarak make mistakes concepts, principles, Numerical and verbal in understanding the material relations and functions.This study aims to determine the types and the factors that cause errors grade students of SMPN 3 X Koto Singkarak in resolving the problems of relations and functions.This type of research is descriptive. Population of this research subject is a whole class VIII SMPN 3 X Koto Singkarak. While the 25 research subjects were chosen by 4 people with mistakes made varied reasons. Data collected by the test method, and interviews. Data used qualitative data, while the data source of this research is the source of primary data and secondary data. The procedure of this study is the preparation phase, the implementation phase and completion phase.Data error percentage of the student learning in class VIII SMPN 3 X Koto Singkarak concept of 45.91%, 14.29% principle, numeric 23, 47%, 16.32% verbal .Berdasarkan the results of the research obtained a factor mistakes made by the students, who factor of the (1) did not master the material prerequisites, (2) a less precise way of learning, (3) lack of exercise intensity work on the problems, and external factors (1) the way teachers teach.
