Teaching Speaking of Invitation Expression for Junior High School Students

Abstract

This paper is aimed to describe about teaching speaking and procedure of teaching speaking of invitation expression. It can help the teacher in introducing the material in strategies way. Speaking is significant to an individuals living processes and experiences as the ability of seeing and walking. Speaking is also the most natural way to communicate. The teacher should teach speaking in attractive way, such by using the card in teaching invitation expression. It can be used as a method of teaching speaking because it makes the teacher and students easier in doing teaching and learning process. By using this method, the teacher can collect the students’ attention to get concentration to the lesson. It also can awake the students’ spirit and emotion in learning. There are many sub topics of speaking that students learn and one of them is invitation expression. In this way, the students are expected to be able to learn and practice to speak the invitation expression through a card in a good conversation. This activity is better done in group. After explains about the invitation expression and the students had understood about the material, the teacher divides the students  into several group or asks them to choose their own group which is consist of two or four. After that, the teacher asks the students to practice it in front of the class based on the picture that the teacher  had shown in the white board.
