This study was motivated by the low activity and student learning outcomes in learning, and teachers still tend to use methods of lecture and question and answer. This study aimed to describe the increased activity and student learning outcomes in social studies learning by using models of type Cooperative Numbered Head Together (NHT) in Class IV SDN 39 Kampung Pansur. This research is a classroom action research conducted in the first semester of the academic year 2015/2016 at SDN 39 Kampung Pansur. Subjects were fourth grade students of SDN 39 Kampung Pansur totaling 18 students. The study was conducted in two cycles and each cycle consisting of three meetings. The research instrument is a matter which form of objective, essays and student activity observation sheet and aspects of the teacher. The results showed an increase in the percentage of students in the first cycle of activity, namely 66.66% increase in the second cycle is 83.33%. Results of the final evaluation of the cycle seen an increase in the average value of 64.44 by the thoroughness class students as much as 9 people with the percentage (50%) in the first cycle, increasing to an average of 77.22 with a class of 14 people with the completeness percentage (77.78%) in the second cycle. It can be concluded that the use of the model type Cooperative Numbered Head Together (NHT) may enhance the activity and results of social studies in class IV SDN 39 Kampung Pansur.
