Abstrak

ABSTRACT



The research is motivated from the fact that learning in primary school is often dominated by teachers as a source of information. The aim of this study is to describe the learning outcome IPA using constructivist approach to fourth grade students of SDN 13 Kampung Kandang Kota Pariaman. The theory used in this study are the opinions Nurhadi (2003: 39) states that learning steps to be followed in applying the learning constructivism in the classroom include: activation of existing knowledge, it can be started with the observation image and a question and answer, the acquisition of knowledge new, the understanding of knowledge with the investigation,apply their knowledge and experience, reflection.

Assessment is used in the data collection is the assessment results (cognitive) and signs the sheet observations using constructivism approach of aspects of teacher and student. To find out improving student learning outcomes conducted tests that were analyzed using the valuation benchmark for the success of at least 70% grade. The results of student learning using the constructivist approach in cycle I and II have increased where the average value in the first cycle gained an average of 69.4 and the second cycle an average of 80. It can be concluded that learning science by using constructivism approach IPA can improve learning outcomes SDN 13 Kampung Kandang Kota Pariaman.
