PENERAPAN METODE KUMON DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN LEMBAR KERJA SISWA PADA PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA SISWA KELAS VIII SMP FILIAL SMP NEGERI 2 PADANG

Abstract

The low of students'learning outcomes in learning mathematics in class VIII SMP Filial SMPN 2 Padang was caused by several factors. They are  the lack of motivation, ways of learning and their learning environment. To overcome these problems, the researcher used Kumon method in learning mathematics. The hypothesis used in this research was students' learning outcome in mathematics by applying the Kumon method is better than applying conventional learning in class VIII SMP Filial SMPN 2 Padang. The type of this  research is experimental. Samples used in this study was  two classes; VIII.10 was selected class and VIII.11 was control class . The data were obtained by giving the final test. The test consists of 6 item descriptions. To test the hypothesi, the researcher used t-test at the level of α = 0.05. From. It can be concluded that  students' learning outcome in mathematics by applying the Kumon method is better than applying conventional learning in class VIII SMP Filial SMPN 2 Padang.Key words: kumon
