KATEGORI DAN FUNGSI PANTUN MINANGKABAU PADA ACARA PANTUN BALEGA DI RADIO SUSHI FM PADANG

Abstrak

ABSTRACT

The purposeofthis  researchwereto describe categoriesand functionof  Minangkabau’s poem  that was announced by Sushi FM Padang trought Pantun Balega. This  event was announced from Monday to Thuesday at 20.00 to22.00pm.Theoryisusedtoanalyzethecategories andfunctionsof Minangkabau’s poem was isthetheoryproposedby ErizalGani (2010).Thistypeofresearch isqualitativeand descriptivemethod. The data ganthered by record that event. After recording twice, it was found 192 data. There were 6categoriesand10 function of Minangkabau’s poem. Based on data analysis, there are some poem’s categories namely: (1)custom traditional poem,(2)old traditional poem,(3)youngtraditional poem,(4) childhood traditionalpoem,(5)happytraditionalpoem,and(6)grief traditional poem. In addition, thefunction the poem are the are to(1) mediumof communication function,(2) identity,(3)anornamentalflower,(4) to teach about religion,(5) amediumof educating,(6)custom embodiment, (7) to entertaiment, (8)cultural symbols, (9) heroicvalues, and (10)humanizing. Beside that, based on the result of analysis,category andfunction of Minangkabau’s poeminthe event Pantun Balegaat Sushi FM radio Padang, itcouldbeconcludedthatinMinangkabau’s poem categories wasdominantbyyoungtraditionalpoem, whilethefunction ofMinangkabau’s poemismoredominantasmediumof communicationfunction.
