The purpose of this study to describe the increase in activity and learning outcomes of students in learning science by using a model of Discovery Learning in Elementary School fourth grade 37 Alang Laweh Padang. This research is a classroom action research. This research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings and one final test cycle. The subjects were fourth grade students of SD Negeri 37 Alang Laweh Padang, totaling 30 people. The research instrument used is the observation of student activity sheets, observation sheets aspects of teacher and student learning outcomes test sheet. Based on the results of student learning activity observation sheet in cycle I and II, obtained an average score of student activity percentage expressing their opinions on the first cycle of 73% increased to 86.6% in the second cycle. Activities students conduct experiments on the first cycle of 70% increasing to 85% in the second cycle. Based on the results of the study, the percentage of students who achieve mastery cognitive learning level of knowledge and understanding in the first cycle by 60% and increased in the second cycle to 80%. This means learning science by using a model of Discovery Learning can increase the activity and learning outcomes of the fourth grade students of SD Negeri 37 Alang Laweh Padang. Based on these results, the researchers suggested that teachers can use the model of Discovery Learning in learning to improve the activity and student learning outcomes.
