Abstrak

This study aims to determine students' perceptions about aspects of biology lab class XI IPA at SMAN 5 Padang namely cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects held on 19 April 2016. This is a descriptive study with a population of 59 students of class XI IPA registered in the second semester of 2015/2016, with a sample of 59 students. The data were collected by distributing a questionnaire consisting of 29 items statement. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistical techniques, this technique is done by calculating the percentage. From the findings, it seemed that the aspects of practical activities are supported by sub-sub-variables with a percentage of average as follows: 1) The cognitive aspect has average percentage of 87% with good criterion 2) Aspect affective had average percentage of 86% with good criteria and 3) psychomotor aspect has an average percentage of 83% with good criterion. It can be concluded that this aspect of biology practicum students have either category. The implications of this study are expected to: 1) To order a biology teacher in practicum activities in addition to the cognitive and affective aspects are also considered psychomotor aspects. 2) To the students are expected to be able to improve processes in implementing practical skills. 3) It is expected that no more research to further refine this thesis.
