Abstrak

ABSTRACT

 

This research is motivated by the poor results of social studies students of class V SDN 03 Koto Pulai Tapan. This classroom action research aims to  describe the learning outcome of cognitive level of understanding (C2) and describe the learning outcome the affective aspects of cooperation and discipline fifth grade students in social studies learning through models Pair Check in SDN 03 Koto Pulai second semester the school year 2015/2016. The research was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of two meetings. The research instrument used was the assessment sheet on the affective aspects of cooperation and discipline of students, teacher activity observation sheet and final test cycle. Based on data analysis, the average cognitive achievement level of understanding of students who have grades above KKM in the first cycle obtained by the average value of 50.38 by the thoroughness of 46.15% and increased in the second cycle into the average value of 71.19 with completeness 80.76%. While improving learning outcomes affective aspects of cooperation and discipline in the first cycle is the average value of 68.02 by the thoroughness 46.15% increase in cycle II, the average value of 75.24 with 76.92% completeness. It can be concluded that the IPS study using a model Pair Check in class V SDN 03 Koto Pulai Tapan can improve student learning outcomes. It is therefore recommended that teachers can use the model Pair Check in learning social studies in primary school.
