Abstrak

ABSTRACT

This research is conducted to describe imagery and meaning in a collection of poetry “ Hujan Bulan Juni” created by Sapardi Djoko Damono. The theories that are used by researcher are the opinion of Rachmad Djoko Pradopo (1993) about imagery or the illusion illustration that writer uses in showing the rheme, and Waluyo (1987). This research uses qualitative research focus on descriptive method as the research design when conducted this research. The data of this research are gathered by (1) reading and undestanding imagery in a collection of poetry “Hujan Bulan Juni” created by Sapardi Djoko Damono, (2) marking and noting imagery and sensing that are found in a collection of poetry “Hujan Bulan Juni”, (3) collecting the data that have been marked in tabel form. The data are analyzed by: (1) analysing the data that have been classified, (2)the data are analyze from each line, based on the sequences in tabel of data collection, (3) concluding the result of data analysis. Based on the result of data in a collection of poetry “Hujan Bulan Juni” created by Sapardi Djoko Damono sre found 67 imagery that includes 32 the sight imaginary, 15 hearing imagery, 3 feeling imagery, 2 sense of smell imagery, 18 the movement imagery. In addition,  there are 2 poetry that use the hermaneutik meaning code, 5 proairetik code, and also there are 8 poetry that use simbolic meaning code. It can be concluded that there are imagery and meaning in a collection of poetry “Hujan Bulan Juni” created by Sapardi Djoko Damono that can construct a poetry.
