ABSTRAK

 

Thisresearchaimedtodescribetheabilitytowritepoetrywith a directobject VII.4 gradestudents of SMPN 15 Padang District of Koto Tangahthatincludestheabilitytoselectwords (diction) andtheuse of figure of speech (figurativelanguage). The theoryusedinthisresearchisthetheoryputforwarddiction Wardoyo (2013) andWahyuni (2014). Furthermore, thetheory of figure of speech (figurativelanguage) stated Wardoyo (2013) and Gani (2014). Thistype of researchisqualitativedescriptivemethodproposedbyMoleong (2010). The resultsshowedthatstudentsinclass VII.4 SMPN 15Padang dictionarequitegoodinselectingandusing a figure of speechinwritingpoetrywith a directobject. Itcanbeseenfromthe data 36 poemswrittenbythestudents, thestudentswereabletomaketheselectionanduse of dictionfigure of speechinwritingpoetry. Based on theseresults, wecanconcludethat VII.4 gradestudents of SMPN 15 Padang District of Koto Tangahbeenabletowrite a poemwiththetechnique of directobject.
