EROTISME DAN SPIRITUALISME DALAM NOVEL PENGAKUAN “EKS PARASIT LAJANG” KARYA AYU UTAMI

Abstrak

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this research was to describe the intrinsic element of a novel. The aspect was theme, massage, plot, characterizations and background, the form of eroticism, and the form of spiritual in Pengakuan Eks Parasit Lajang’s novel by Ayu Utami. This research used eroticism theory by Holman and spiritual theory by Elkins et al (1988). The type of this research was qualitative which produced descriptive data in the form of observable written and spoken words, Moleong (2010). This research used descriptive method which was started from collecting, identifying, analyzing the data, and concluding, Moleong (2010).The object of this research was Pengakuan Eks ParasitLajang’s novel by Ayu Utami. Based on the result of the data analysis in this novel, there was found intrinsic elements. They were theme, plot, character, background, and message. The form of eroticism was literal eroticism which consisted of the description of sexual organ and sexual activity. There was found 44 data about eroticism which encompassed 3 data to literal eroticism in describing sexual organ and 41 data to literal eroticism in describing sexual activity. Then, the spirituality in this novel has extroverted moral message and spoken or action in the form of vertical and horizontal which is incorporated to the component of spirituality. There was found 84 data of transcendental dimension, 2 data cover  the message and the purpose in life, 2 data cover the mission of life, 1 data covers sanctity, 3 data cover the value of material, 4 data cover altruism, 5 data cover  idealism, 8 data cover the awareness of tragic event, and 13 data cover core of spirituality.The ninth of dimensions are revealed in Pengakuan Eks Parasit Lajang’ novel.
