Abstract

The purpose of this study was to figure out students’ motivation and their geometry’s learning outcome after the make a match learning model was applied. Motivation and learning outcomes of math on grade VII at junior high school 2 Padang were low. One of the reasons was that the students thought that geometry was a difficult lesson. Another reasons was the students always cheat their friend's assignments.when working in group only a few students were active to do the task. It caused the students lack motivation in learning mathematics.A learning model that could improve students’ motivation and learning outcomes is make a match model together with Dienestheory. Particularly, for geometry lesson.This research was an experimental study.Two classes were randomly pick up as a control and an experimental classes respectively.This study used a questionnaire to viewedstudent learning motivation. Based an questionnaire about motivation. In experimental class nine students who had a very highcriteria, twenty six students who had  high criteriaand one student who had enough criterialearning motivation. While in control class ,there which only five students who had a very highcriteria, twenty five students who had high criteriaand six students who had criteria enough learning motivation. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that students who were learning with make a match model together with Dienestheory had better motivation than students who were learning with regular model.
