Abstract

 

The background of this study was low ability to write free verse students in learning Indonesian fifth grade students of SDN 09 district. Airpura Kab. South coast. The purpose of this study is that students can improve the ability to write free verse with the creation of the imagination using words that are creative, so as to improve their ability to find sentences with the right choice of words to write free verse using Strategy Thought Plus. This type of research is the Classroom Action Research (PTK). The subjects were students of class V totaling 30 students. The research instrument is teacher observation sheet activity, achievement test sheet and Instrument. The results obtained an increase in the percentage of students' writing skills with the thoroughness of learning outcomes in the first cycle of 56.67% to 83.33% in the second cycle, while the average student learning outcomes first cycle of 73.5 increased in the second cycle into 82.83 , The percentage of teacher activity also increased in the first cycle 67.5% to 85%. It can be concluded through Thought Strategy Plus can upgrade free poetry writing class V with the right choice of words. Thus, it is suggested to teachers to think plus strategies to improve the ability to write free verse fifth

grade students in learning Indonesian.
