This event will be based on research by the low level of activity and results of the IPS study grade IV SDN 29 Ulak Karang Utara. The purpose of this research is to increase the activity and results of the study, IPS grade IV SDN 29 Ulak Karang Utara by using model learning of Word Square. The research is the Research Action class (PTK) which was implemented in two cycles. The data source is a grade IV 29 Ulak Karang Utara SDN amounted to 30 people. The instruments used are observation sheet activity the teacher, student activities, assessment of the realm of affective and cognitive domain appraisal. Based on the results of the assessment of the cognitive domain on a cycle I by percentage 53.57% with average 65,71%, increase in cycle II with 85.71% percentage with an average of 84.28%. Affective domain assessments on the ability of the student's cycle of cooperation with 75.11% percentage rise in cycle II with an average percentage of 84.99%. Assessment of the activity of students in answering questions on aspects of the cycle by 45.11% percentage rise in cycle II with an average percentage of 81.66%. Mean indicator in the study successfully in the implementation of learning by using learning model of Word Square takes place properly. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that in learning through learning model IPS Word Square can increase the activity and results of student learning class IV at SDN 29 Ulak Karang Utara.
