This research aimed to describe increasing the interest and ability of the students in understanding and responding to the learning civics. The subjects were grade students of SDN 29 IVA Pesisir Selatan, which amounted to 18 people. This type of research is (CAR) conducted in two cycles. The instrument used is a sheet of teacher activity observation, observation sheets interests of students, cognitive assessment (test), assessment of affective domain (non-test). Learning outcome in the first cycle can be discovered that the average percentage of students interest in doing that is 51.38%, and the second cycle increased to 80.55%. The ability of students to understand the learning material in the first cycle with an average that is 56.72 percentage gain mastery increased 27.77% to 83.33 with the percentage of completeness of 83.33% in the second cycle. Rate affective in the first cycle an average of 51.85 with 38.9% completeness percentage increased to 89.81 with the percentage of completeness of 83.33% in the second cycle. This means the target indicators of success in research is successful and the implementation of learning with models Pair Checks went well. Learning outcome the assessment it can be concluded that in learning civics through the model Pair Checks can increase interest and Learning Outcomes Student Class IVA in SDN 29 Pesisir Selatan. Therefore, it is recommended in order to apply the model Pair checks well in teaching civics in different materials.
